Membership Benefits

 

PECG Negotiates to Protect and Improve Your Job:

·        Influences all forms of your compensation – pay, benefits, holidays, vacations, etc.

·        Fights contracting out of your job.

·        Protects and improves your retirement benefits

·        Protects the civil service system and employees from politically-motivated disciplinary actions

·        Educates the public and decision makers on what PECG members do and how we serve the public interest

·        Monitors trends in the other bargaining units and agencies

·        Coordinates with the Board of Registration

·        Sponsors, supports, and opposes legislation

·        Participates in joint management committees that benefit both the State and the employees.

·        Pursues funding and legislation at the federal level independently and through the National Association of State Highway and Transportation Unions (NASHTU) 

Only PECG Members Can:

·        Establish contract bargaining and supervisory meet and confer priorities through a membership questionnaire

·        Vote to ratify or reject any proposed MOU

·        Elect Section Officers and Corporate Officers

·        Run for Section or Corporate Office

·        Receive $1,500 free life insurance

·        Purchase low cost life, auto and homeowners insurance

·        Receive discounted auto rentals and hotel rates

·        Get discounts at theme parks

·        Apply for a PECG MasterCard

·        Get the Informer, the PECG newsletter that keeps members apprised of issues that may affect them 

Additionally:

·        Strength in unity.  The more people we represent, the stronger we become.

·        The difference in cost between being a fee-payer and being a member is only $4.77 per month.

·        PECG officers are volunteers.  None of the officers or board members are paid.  Paid consultant staff performs day-to-day operations.

·        PECG is not affiliated with any other umbrella organizations.  All PECG dues are used to represent PECG members

·        PECG is a multifaceted professional organization.  We work hard to maintain a professional image and fight to keep our status as professionals.
