Bruce Blanning, Executive Director of the Professional Engineers in California Government (PECG) was interviewed live on Business News Network regarding PECG’s involvement in the California Public Employees Retirement System (CalPERS) Infrastructure Investment Policy. 

PECG received a significant amount of media coverage on its objections to the proposed policy which would have authorized investments which are contrary to the public interest, unsound financially, and damaging to the members it represents.  PECG and PERS worked out an agreement to revise the draft policy to ensure that members’ contributions would not be invested in projects which would outsource their jobs. 

The live television segment was broadcast on Wednesday, August 20^th on Business News Network, Canada’s only business specialty channel.  The segment was aired during the networks Squeeze Play program which focuses on the day’s most explosive stories in business and politics.
